‘We may face midterm polls but Tejashwi’s resignation not acceptable’: RJD


PATNA: The ongoing standoff between the RJD and JD-U over resignation of Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav has now reached final stage with the RJD ready with its plan.

Reports said the RJD has almost decided it will prefer midterm polls to resignation of its leader.

“At no cost, we will allow resignation of our leader. We will prefer midterm polls to Tejashwi’s resignation,” a local media quoted RJD sources as having decided on this line.

Reports said although the RJD has convened a meeting of its legislature party this afternoon to chalk out strategy in view of monsoon session of the assembly which starts on July 28, the party has already decided over the issue. The meeting is just a formality.

The JD-U headed by chief minister Nitish Kumar is seeking resignation of Tejashwi after he was named an accused in a corruption case by the CBI.

But the RJD has made it clear he will not resign, leading to the deadlock.

Tejashwi who is younger son of RJD Lalu Prasad is also the leader of the RJD legislature party in the Bihar assembly.
