PATNA: Maoists have threatened to shut down Bihar and Jharkhand if Bindi Yadav, father of Rocky Yadav accused of killing a teenager, is not released soon.
The rebels who is said to be running their “parallel government” in parts of the twin states have served 24-hour ultimatum to the local administration for releasing Yadav.

“Why have the police arrested Bindi Yadav when his son is an accused in the murder case? This is not fair. We strongly condemn his arrest,” a spokesman of the Maoists Shankar Dayal Pandey reportedly told a section of media today.
Denying that Yadav had any links with the Maoist groups, the spokesman demanded immediate release of Yadav lest they would be forced to shut down the twin states.
“He (Yadav) has nothing to do with our organization. He is also not our member, rather he is innocent. That’s why we seek his release,” the spokesman was quoted as saying in the local meida.
Yadav whose wife Manorma Devi is a JD-U Member of the Bihar Legislative Council was arrested on Sunday soon after his son was accused of shooting dead the teenager in Gaya for overtaking his car.
He was arrested for allegedly helping his son flee the scene. Today his son too was arrested by the police from a hideout in Bodh Gaya, a little away from the place of occurrence.
