PATNA: RJD president Lalu Prasad today earned criticisms from the masses for making light of the flood fury in the state.
“Ganga water is not easily available now. You people are lucky that the mother Ganga has come to visit your homes,” told the flood victims today.
According to reports in the local media, he made this remark while paying a visit to the flood victims taking shelter along the roads and other safer places in the state.
“But, pray to God that this flood is over soon,” he appealed.
He also asked the flood victims not to worry saying the government would provide all necessary relief to them.
“Everything will be fine very soon. Right now, just try to save yourself from floods,” he suggested.
Floods have affected over 2.3 million population settled in 1,115 villages across 12 districts of Bihar, claiming 22 lives and damaging thousands of homes
A report received from the state government today said more than 150,000 people have been evacuated from the flooded homes and put up in relief centres set up by the state government.
