Police said the LJP leader Sudesh Paswan accompanied with his cousin was campaigning for his wife Kumari Maya Rani who is contesting the elections for the post of Mukhia, when the marauders fired at them, leaving them dead.
The attackers also torched three campaign vehicles of the victim whose wife is contesting the elections from Kanwar panchayat.
Before leaving the spot, the killers reportedly left behind a pamphlet which accused Paswan of being a “police informer”.
