PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has ordered an inquiry after a little schoolgirl died while falling into hot rice juice in the school.
The incident took place at government middle school, Gaunaha in West Champaran district on Tuesday when the class two girl fell into the tub full of hot rice juice while playing during the lunch hours.
“The government has taken the matter very seriously and severe action will be taken against the erring persons after the probe,” chief minister Kumar told the media today.
The state government also announced a compensation of Rs 400.000 to the victim’s family.
As per reports, Shubham Kumari, daughter of Shatrughan Ram, sustained severe burn injuries when she accidently fell into the tub full of hot rice juice on Tuesday.
She was hurriedly rushed to a local health centre which referred her to the Sadar hospital, Betia keeping in view her serious condition but she ultimately succumbed to her burn injuries today.
Angry villagers today blocked roads and protested on the streets, seeking action against the accused persons.
The blockade was lifted after the officials rushed to the spot and promised action against the culprits.
