The incident took place in Nalanda, the home district of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday.

Acting swiftly, the authorities have admitted the woman suffering from tuberculosis to a local government hospital, along with her malnourished children.

Reports quoting local villagers said the woman had been married to a man from Nalanda three years back but her husband died later after which she married another youth from the same areas.

Earlier this year, the woman was diagnosed with suffering from tuberculosis after which she informed her husband. Instead of providing treatment, her husband drove her out of his house along with children.

She sought helps from the local villagers but none came to her rescue after which she decided to sell her children for her treatment.

“I decided to sell my children thinking they would remain safe in some other’s husband even when I die,” she told the local media today.

Instead of showing mercy on her, the local villagers banished her from the villagers, leaving her to nowhere.

It was then that the local media reported the matter after which the authorities swung into action and admitted her to the hospital for treatment.

Doctors said both woman and her children are mal-nourished and are under treatment.
