PATNA: Former RJD MP Subhash Yadav has demanded resignation of Tejashwi Yadav as the Leader of Opposition in Bihar assembly for skipping the House session.

Subhash Yadav is the maternal uncle of Tejashwi, younger son of jailed RJD president Lalu Prasad. There was a time when Prasad trusted Yadav much but now he has almost ‘disowned’ his his brother-in-law.

“He (Tejashwi) must resign. He remained absent from the almost entire monsoon session of the state assembly despite being the representative of the people,” Yadav told the media on Saturday.

He said the post of the Leader of Opposition, as such, is more important than those in the government.

“It is the Leader of Opposition who highlights the failures of the government but he remained constantly absent from the almost the entire House session,” Yadav said.

Tejashwi’s mysterious absence from the House has, as such, drawn bitter criticisms from various quarters. Many said this move highlights the lack of his seriousness on his part but it is still beyond comprehension as to what exactly compelled him to stay away from the crucial House session.

As such, never in the past two years since he was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition he had showed such scorn for the House and always attended the House session.

Many say more than his party’s poll debacle, he is upset at the ongoing internal family conflicts which sealed the fate of the party in the recent LS polls where the RJD failed to open its accounts for the first time in 22 years.

Reports said he has been facing challenges from his own kin.
