“The assembly elections in UP are quite significant since it will impact the national politics. Hence, I request Mulayam Singh Yadav to bless Akhilesh and fight the polls unitedly to defeat the communal forces,” Prasad told the media yesterday.
The RJD cautioned Mulayam against the ugly designs of the “communal forces” saying the latter were trying hard to spilt the secular votes.
“They should not be allowed to succeed in their attempt,” Prasad said and revealed how he also had talks with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to ally with the Akhilesh to give a befitting reply to the “communal forces”.
“The talks have been positive,” he announced. Prasad is the Samadhi of SP patriarch Mulayam. Prasad’s youngest daughter Raj Laxami is married to Mulayam’s grand nephew.
Earlier Prasad had launched move to bring truce in the fighting Mulayam family after Akhilesh was expelled from the party last month.
