PATNA: RJD president Lalu Prasad today lost his usual calm when repeatedly grilled by reporters over his alleged involvement in scams and his relations with jailed party leader Mohammad Shahabuddin.
The incident took place at the Delhi airport on Wednesday. The RJD chief had gone there to take part in a meeting called by Congress president Sonia Gandhi over deciding the name of Presidential candidate.
“You are corrupt. You have been acting as an agent of (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi,” Prasad reportedly said on being frequently quizzed about his benami land deals by a TV reporter.
The RJD went further out of control when a reporter pressed him further for explaining his association with Shahabuddin who is currently lodged in high-security Tihar jail in Delhi.
Prasad had kicked up controversy when a TV news channel recently came out with a purported audio clip which it claimed was a telephonic conversation that took place between the two RJD leaders while Shahabuddin was lodged in Siwan jail.
In the conversation, Prasad was taking instructions from Shahabuddin who asks the former about transferring a police official.
In the audio clip, the jailed RJD politician was also heard telling his boss to remove the Siwan district superintendent of police saying his action could create riots in the district.
