Jharkhand govt presents populist budget, imposes no new tax on common men


PATNA: The Jharkhand government today presented a real populist budget for the new fiscal while imposing no tax burdens on the common men.

The budget was presented by chief minister Raghubar Das who also holds the finance portfolio.

Das presented Rs 75673.42 crore budget in the Assembly with main focus on key sectors like education, rural development, road & building, energy and agriculture.

A key feature of the budget is that it focuses on common men, declaring the new financial year as the “Garib Kalyan Varsh” (year for welfare of common men).

“This fiscal year is dedicated to the common men,” the chief minister said.

Further, the government laid seperate budget this time for scheduled tribe and scheduled castes and also announced opening up farm implements banks as well as farmers school in every Panchayat headquarters for updates on agriculture practices and equipemnts.

The government also announced to constitute Youth Commission for the welfare and development of the vast youth.
