India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Awaraj today asked Pakistan to abandon its dream of getting Jammu and Kashmir.

“Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and will always remain so,” Swaraj said in her much-awaited speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday.

Denying India has set any pre-condition for dialogue with Pakistan, she asked, “What pre-conditions, Mr PM? We have, in fact, attempted a paradigm of friendship without precedent”.

Trying to prove her point she asked, “Did we impose any pre-condition before extending an invitation for the oath-taking ceremony of our government? Did we impose any pre-condition when I went to Islamabad for the Heart of Asia Conference and agreed to begin the Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue? Did we impose any pre-condition when Prime Minister Modi travelled from Kabul to Lahore? What precondition? We took the initiative to resolve issues not on the basis of conditions but on the basis of friendship.”

She said India paid the price for friendship and this came in the shape of Pathankot, Bahadur Ali and Uri attacks.

Accusing the neighbor of exporting terror, she said, “Those who seed extremist ideologies, reap a bitter harvest. This germ of evil has grown into a hydra-headed monster.”
