Jammu and Kashmir civil secretariat starts functioning in winter capital Jammu

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir civil secretariat started functioning from Monday in the winter capital Jammu after six months in Srinagar, the summer capital of the state.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was accorded traditional ‘Guard of Honour’ upon her arrival at the civil secretariat by a contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police

A contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police presented arms to Mehbooba Mufti while Director General of Police (DGP) K. Rajendra Kumar escorted him.

Replying to a media query, Mehbooa said that  Government was making all efforts to bring the situation back on the rails the valley and termed burning of schools in the valley as most unfortunate.

The Chief Minister also expressed anguish over the recent escalation of tension along the borders.
