PATNA: The state government in Bihar has ordered for shifting jailed RJD politician Mohammad Shahabuddin to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for his treatment.
As per an official report, the order to shift him for treatment in AIIMS was issued by the home department yesterday. The order was issued on the basis of politician’s medical report.
Reports said the jailed politician will be shifted to AIIMS in the next three-four days.
Shahabuddin who is currently lodged in Bhagalpur central jail is suffering from back pain.
The trouble began soon after he was shifted to Bhagalpur jail from his home town Siwan jail last month after he was caught holding court in jail in utter violation of jail manual.
During the raid a jail, more than 17 cell phones, SIM cards, knives and other objectionable items had also been seized from the jail.
The raid was conducted in the aftermath of killing of journalist Rajdeo Ranjan in Siwan last month.
Later, the state government also removed the jail superintendent for his negligent approach.
