Indian villager strangles little daughter after she refuses to bring alcohol


PATNA: A man from the eastern Indian state of Bihar strangulated his little daughter to death after she refused to bring alcohol for her father.

The horrible incident took place at a village located under Madanpur police station in Aurangabad district, some 190 km south of Patna, the capital of Bihar state, on Tuesday night.

Reports quoting police sources said the accused identified as Radheshaym Bhuiyan demanded money from his wife to buy liquor on the fateful night. On her refusal, he assaulted his wife who later left her home.

Subsequently, he asked his seven-year-old daughter Rupa Kumari to bring liquor which she too flatly refused.

“Angry at her refusal, he caught hold of his daughter and strangulated her to death. After committing the crime, he buried her body near a rivulet outside his home,” a local police official Subhash Rai told the media on Wednesday.

The police have arrested the accused and sent him to jail. Bihar has enforced total ban on alcohol last year.
