PATNA: Union BJP minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday said India was heading for another partition on the pattern of 1947 when Pakistan was carved out of it on the basis of religion.
“India is heading for another partition on the basis of culture,” Giriraj Singh said, urging all political parties to come forward for a birth control law.
Singh who holds the portfolios of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries also shared a graphics on his twitter handle which says how India’s population registered a growth of 366 percent in between 1947 when it got freedom and 2019 against US which population’s growth remained at only 113 percent during the same period.
The BJP minister expressed serious concern over population boom in the country saying it was disturbing social harmony, economy and balance in the country. He blamed “religion” as a major impediment for checking population.
“Population explosion in India was disturbing social harmony, economy and balance,” he said.
Giriraj Singh who represents Begusarai seat from Bihar in Lok Sabha favoured two-child norm for every community irrespective of any caste, community and religions and suggested that those having more than two children must be stripped of his voting rights.
