PATNA: The Patna High Court today rejected a petition seeking cancellation of BJP MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal’s House Membership for allegedly concealing criminal cases pending against him in his poll affidavits.
Sigriwqal represents Maharajganj seat from Bihar in the Lok Sabha.
The petition had been filed by former RJD MP Prabhunath Singh now in jail in connection with a murder case.
Singh in his petition had accused Sigriwal of hiding criminal cases pending against him which he alleged was an utter violation of Representation of People’s Act.
The High Court after hearing the both sides had reserved its judgment last month on July 25.
Today, the court rejected the petition saying the prosecution side failed to prove the charges against Sigriwal.
