HAM chief Jitan Ram Manjhi expels leader accused of rape
PATNA: Hindustani Awam Mocha (HAM) chief Jitan Manjhi has expelled the party leader who was accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in his home.
“We have dismissed this man from the party for his misconduct. Such persons have no place in our party. We also appeal to all parties to boycott such persons,” a HAM spokesperson Naresh Sao told the media today.
Sheikhpura district HAM president Mahendra Sao was arrested by the police on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a little girl. He was arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.
Police said the girl, a resident of Satbigahi locality under town police station in the district, had left for coaching on Saturday morning when she was kidnapped by the leader who allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The entire matter came to light when the girl somehow escaped from his captivity on Sunday afternoon and narrated the entire story to her parents.
Soon after getting the information, angry residents caught the leader and gave the accused a sound thrashing on the streets before handing him over to the police.
