Grand Alliance government will last its full term, asserts Bihar CM Nitish Kumar


PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today rejected reports of his hobnobbing with the BJP and said the Grand Alliance government headed by him would last its full term.

“There shouldn’t be any doubts about the Grand Alliance government. It will last its full terms,” Kumar said in a conversation with journalist Burkha Dutt at the HT Leadership Summit in New Delhi on Saturday.

Reacting to his support for demonetization drive of the Narendra Modi government, he said he supports this campaign “as far as the Centre’s approach against corruption through demonetization is concerned”.

He refused to comment when asked to react to a statement by LJP chief and federal minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s remark that Kumar is welcome in the NDA.

“You know he is the same person who said during his Pakistan trip that he broke alliance with the BJP after Gujarat riots,” Kumar remarked.

Later addressing the workers’ conference of his party in at the Constitution Club, he said condition of Delhi at this time is worse than villages in Bihar and demanded full statehood to Delhi.
