Govt warns villagers against fake ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme running in Bihar

PATNA: The Union Ministry of Women & Child Development has expressed serious concern over reports of certain unauthorised sites/organisations/NGOs/individuals distributing forms in the name of cash incentive under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme.

The scheme has no provision for individual CASH TRANSFER COMPONENT by Government of India, says a government Press release issued today.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme focuses on challenging mindsets and deep rooted patriarchy in the societal system, strict enforcement of PC&PNDT Act, advancing education of the girl child: focus is on issues of women empowerment on a life cycle continuum. It is not a DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) scheme.
Terming it as a very serious matter, the government has asked the masses to report it to the nearest police station and the concerned District Collector/ District Magistrate if any such incidence comes to your light.

The government has also asked villagers not fall in trap to any such fraud.

“Do not share your personal details in this regard. FIRs have already been filed in many districts of UP and some people arrested too. However, similar incidents have also been reported from Madhubani district of Bihar,” said a government release.
