Gangsters serve extortion notice on leading Indian doctor with bullet inside

PATNA: Gangsters have sought Rs 5 million extortion from a prominent doctor in Patna.

Extortion has been sought from Dr AK Singh who runs diagnostic centres in Patna.

Criminals have also sent a .38 bore bullet through the letter sent to Dr Singh ordering him to cough up the money or be ready to face the consequences.

The letter warns of “pumping rest of five bullets into his body” if failing to pay the extortion money.

“A bullet is being sent to you so that you don’t take it lightly. The rest of five bullets have been kept reserved for you…they are enough to kill you,” the letter was quoted as saying in a local newspaper.

This is the first time that the criminals have sent bullet along with the extortion letter to the victim.

A panic-stricken Dr Singh has registered a case with the local police station.

Police are investigation the case.

“Prime facie this appears to be the handwork of mischief makers yet we have provided security to the victim and are investigating the case,” Patna’s senior superintend of police Manu Maharaj told the media today.
