PATNA: Gangster has sought an extortion of Rs 10 lakh (One million) from a ruling party lawmaker in Bihar.
Reports said the criminal called up RJD legislator Nand Kumar Rai on his cell phone and asked him to pay the said amount.
The criminal also threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to oblige soon although the caller didn’t inform him about the place and time where money is to be paid.
A panicky Rai legislator has registered a case with the police.
Rai represents Baruraj seat (Muzaffarpur) in the Bihar assembly.
A day earlier, criminals had sought an extortion of Rs 20 lakh (Rs two million) from the deputy inspector general of police, Saharsa Range, Chandrika Prasad.
