Fugitive Bihar MLA Anant Singh’s hide-and-seek game ends with his surrender

PATNA: Controversial legislator Anant Singh who had been absconding for the past about a week finally surrendered in a court in Delhi.

Singh who represents Mokama seat in the Bihar assembly had been absconding since August 17 after the police registered a case under anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (prevention) Act following recovery of AK-47 rifle, hand grenades and live cartridges from his home.

Subsequently Singh fled from the scene and all attempts by the police to nab him went in vain.

While the police struggled to get information about his whereabouts, the legislator continued releasing videos claiming he was being framed under a political conspiracy and that he would surrender before the court, not before the police.

Finally on Friday, he surrendered before a Saket court in Delhi, bringing the curtain down on his hide-and-seek game with the police. Police said a special team would be sent to Delhi to bring Singh to Bihar.
