Former students seek ban on private practice by PMCH doctors


PATNA: Former students of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) have sought for a ban on the continuing private practices by doctors posted at the hospital to let the health institute grow.

“There is an urgent need to ban private practice by doctors posted at the PMCH. They will devote full time to the development of PMCH only when they are banned from private practice,” Patna Medical College Hospital Alumni Association told the media on Tuesday.

“Right now, the doctors working at the PMCH look rather worried about their private practice,” the Association added demanding that the private practice by PMCH working doctors be banned on the line of the doctors posted with the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna.

The Association also announced to hold medical camps in villages to help the poor.

The PMCHAA office-bearers, such as Dr Satyajit Kumar Singh, president, Dr DK Chaudhary, chief patron, Dr Vijay Kumar Gupta, secretary, Dr AK Jaiswal, Dr Sachidanand Kumar and Dr SN Sinha addressed the media.
