One of the reports said the UPA Government had facilitated loans to Mallya after his request to Manmohan Singh and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in 2011 and 2013.
The letters allegedly requested that loans to Mallya’s defunct Kingfisher Airlines from a consortium of banks be expedited.
Patra alleged that even though the loans were not repaid, Mr Mallya was granted loans again and again.
Mallya moved to Britain in March last year as the controversy over non-repayment of loans broke out and a group of banks began efforts to recover nearly Rs 9,000 crores given out as loans to Kingfisher airlines.
Mallya faces warrants in India and investigating agencies are trying to bring him back home.
