Cruel Bihar man plants paddy after burying wife’s body in the field

PATNA: A man in Bihar murdered his wife, buried her body in the paddy field and then transplanted paddy seedlings over it in a bid to destroy all evidence. The man was angry at his wife opposing his illicit relationship with another woman.
The bizarre incident took place at Karimchak-Balwa village under Kalyan Bigha police outpost in Nalanda district.
Police said Nandu Raut killed his wife with the help of his accomplices, dragged her body to his nearby paddy field and then transplanted paddy seedlings over her body in bid to destroy all evidence.
The incident came to light after the woman’s brother registered a case with the police. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested the man and quizzed him extensively.
During interrogation, the man confessed to killing his wife and burying her body in the paddy field. On Friday evening, the police got the entire area dug out in the presence of the local circle officer Akhilesh Chaudhary and recovered the body.
The police have arrested the accused husband while raids were on to nab other accused persons. “We have arrested the main accused but other accused persons are absconding,” a local senior police official Rituraj told the media on Saturday.
