PATNA: Armed criminals looted three kg gold and 10 kg silvers from a jewellery shop in eastern Bihar’s Katihar district today. They also collected Rs 1 crore in cash before fleeing the scene.
The daring broad day-light dacoity was committed in a jewellery shop in Katihar district today.
Police said the criminals masquerading as customers entered into the shop and held the shop owner as well as some customers hostage before looting the ornaments and cash at gun-point.
The number of criminals is said to be eight who had come on four bikes. While four entered inside, the rest kept on guarding outside.
After committing the crime, they fled on their bikes.
Reports said the number of customers was thin at the shop and the market was deserted at that time since it was raining.
