PATNA: Criminals struck again in Bihar, this time robbing off a car belonging to a ruling party lawmaker’s brother.
The stolen car belonged to Rakesh Singh, brother of ruling JD-U lawmaker Kavita Singh. She represents Daraunda assembly seat (Siwan) in the Bihar assembly.
Reports said the man had come from Saran to meet his sister in Patna on Thursday and was holding night stay at her flat located in the posh locality of the state capital when the car was stolen.
“When we work up in the morning, we found the car missing parked outside the home,” lawmaker told the police today.
She attacked the government over the rising crime graph in the state capital adding the police have failed to trace the car till date despite assurance given by them.
“Criminals want to dent the image of our government. Administration should be pro-active in tackling crime. It’s because of the lapses in administration that crime has increased in Bihar”, the lawmaker told the media today.
The Daraunda lawmaker is wife of dreaded criminal Ajay Singh.
Due to his criminal background, Singh was earlier denied ticket by the JD-U when his lawmaker mother Jagmato Devi died in 2011.
As another option to keep seat within the family, Singh was suggested by the JD-U leadership to get married soon to get a party ticket.
It was then that he married Kavita Singh, a local girl, right during Pitripaksh Mela, considered inauspicious for the Hindus, as the time of nomination filing was running past.
