COVID-19 orphans 48 children in Bihar, govt announces all kinds of support
PATNA—The Bihar government has announced to provide financial support to children who lost their parents to COVID-19.
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said the children orphaned due to COVID-19 would be given a monthly stipend of Rs1500 till they attain 18 years of age.
The chief minister also announced that the children left with no guardian to bring them up would be provided shelter at the child care homes while orphaned girls would be admitted to the Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential Schools on priority basis.
वैसे बच्चे-बच्चियों जिनके माता पिता दोनो की मृत्यु हो गई, जिनमें कम से कम एक की मृत्यु कोरोना से हुई हो, उनको 'बाल सहायता योजना' अंतर्गत राज्य सरकार द्वारा 18 वर्ष होने तक 1500 रू0 प्रतिमाह दिया जाएगा। (1/2)

According to an official report, a total of 48 children have been rendered orphans in the second wave of Bihar while 1,486 have lost one of their parents.
Similarly, Indian government has identified 577 children orphaned by COVID-19 in India.
