PATNA: RJD Lalu Prasad today alleged his “younger brother” conspired with the BJP to frame him and his family in the corruption case and expressed shock over the way he walked in the company of the BJP against which he had got the mandate.
“Nitish Kumar has cheated the people of Bihar. I charge that he (Nitish Kumar) colluded with BJP to file CBI cases against me and my family,” news agency IANS quoted Lalu Prasad as telling reporters in Ranchi on Thursday.
He said the JD-U-BJP ran the campaign against him under a strategy to defame his family and described Nitish Kumar as a “Bhasmasur” (destroyer).
Prasad also expressed shock over the way his “younger brother” whom he handed throne on a platter despite his part winning maximum seats didn’t express even words of sympathy when the CBI conducted raids.
“Friends are known to be sympathetic during tough times, but Nitish Kumar never called me or expressed words of sympathy. Instead, he sought resignation of my chief minister,” he rued.
He also said the entire match was fixed. “I got cautious when the governor suddenly reached Patna. Later, the way Nitish Kumar resigned, held meeting with NDA leaders, got letter of support from them and then governor invited him to form government first say it all,” he said.
Prasad also described Kumar as a rank opportunist.
