PATNA: The police in Bihar today filed charge-sheet against jailed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) legislator Raj Ballabh Yadav in connection with a rape case. Yadav is accused of raping a minor girl.
The charge-sheet was filed in the Biharshrif court in Nalanda district by the local women police station.
The other accused persons against whom the charge-sheet was filed include Sulekha Devi accused of luring the girl and supplying to the lawmaker, her mother and sister.
“The charge-sheet was filed against Raj Ballabh Yadav and other accused persons after the police found their involvement in the rape case,” a local lawyer Pramod Kumar told the media today.
Yadav had surrendered in the court last month after which he was sent to judicial custody. Since then he has been in jail.
The development could pose more trouble for the rape accused lawmaker as now pressures are being mounted to cancel his House membership.
