CBI judge who convicted Lalu in fodder scam applies for arms license


PATNA: A Ranchi CBI judge who delivered verdict in a fodder scam case involving RJD chief Lalu Prasad and many other politicians has applied for arms license, local media reported today.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, CBI judge Shivpal Singh has applied for revolver license for himself and his two children.

The reports added that the judge applied for the license in October last year and even paid the prescribed fees.

“It’s highly unusual for a sitting judge to apply for a revolver license,” an unnamed official was quoted as saying by the HT.

The said judge had last month convicted Lalu Prasad in a fodder scam case and later sentenced him to 3.5 years in jail.
