PATNA: The BJP today predicted the early fall of the ruling Nitish Kumar government in Bihar amid the prevailing tension in the ruling Grand Alliance comprising RJD, JD-U and the Congress, post UP poll results.

“The Grand Alliance is slowly inching towards disintegration. The government can fall any time,” said Bihar opposition leader Prem Kumar today.

He said the ruling alliance wouldn’t be able to last its full term given the continuing war of words in the party in the aftermath of UP poll results. The BJP emerged as the winner in the UP polls.

The war of words began after the chief minister congratulated the BJP for its spectacular victory in the polls and cited excessive criticisms of the currency ban by the secular groups among others for its defeat.

The RJD reacted by charging the chief minister with clandestinely working for the BJP in the elections and described it as open violation of coalition dharma.
