Last week, the family members of the youth had registered a case against three sons of RJD leader and former minister Ramashraya Sahni after a headless body was found packed in half-burned plastic bag abandoned in a sugarcane field in Samastipur district. They mistook it as the body of the youth and cremated it.

Subsequently, the youth’s family went into grieving mode while the police launched massive raids to arrest the accused persons who went into hiding after a case was registered against them.

The police also arrested one person and sent him to jail in connection with the “murder” case.

Police now plan to request the district court to order release of the jailed villager Suresh Mahato arrested on murder charge.

But, the human rights activists demand a counter case against the youth’s family whose action led to “character assassination” of the RJD leader and also jailing of an innocent villager.
