Police said the 15-year-old girl had become pregnant after she was allegedly raped by a cleric at a local mosque for two months. Later one more youth allegedly raped her. The victim brought the matter to the local court for justice.

Local media reported the village court met four times over the issue but rather than taking action against the accused persons it blamed the girl for rape and ordered for her social boycott.

The village court didn’t stop at that and even ordered her to sell her child.

However, she refused to buckle under pressure and registered a case with the local police.

“We have registered the case and raids were on to nab the absconding accused persons,” Muzaffarpur’s city superintendent of police Niraj Kumar Singh told the media on Monday.
