
PATNA: Authorities in Bihar have decided to confiscate the bungalow of a woman involved in a sex racket and open Nirbahaya centre there to provide prompt helps to victims of crime against women.

The women Sulekha Devi now cooling her heels in the jail is accused of supplying a minor girl to the rape accused RJD legislator Raj Ballabh Yadav. Both the accused are currently lodged in the Biharsharif jail.
Authorities decided to the confiscate the landed properties of the sex racket accused after she failed to produce documents of her properties. Reports said the accused had illegally constructed her bungalow on the government land.
“During the course of inquiry, we found that she had illegally constructed her bungalow on the government land. She was asked to produce papers of her house by the local circle officer Sunil Kumar Verma but she failed to do so. Efforts are now on to confiscate her bungalow,” Nalanda district magistrate Dr Thiyagarajan SM told the media today.
The bungalow is likely to be seized on March 25. Reports said the first floor of the building will house Women Helpline centre whereas the second floor will be converted into Nirbhaya centre aimed at providing instant helps to the victims of crime against women.
The woman accused running a big sex racket and supplying girls to the high-profile people was arrested along with her mother and two younger sisters by the police last month after dodging the police machinery for over a fortnight.
It was Sulekha who had lured the victim, a class tenth student, on the pretext of attending a birthday party in the locality but had handed her to the legislator.
The state government is also planning to confiscate the properties of the rape accused legislator and put his case on the fast track to provide quick justice to the victim.
