Bihar road rage case: Now, accused Rocky Yadav’s legislator mother goes underground, house sealed

PATNA: Authorities in Bihar today issued arrest warrant against suspended JD-U legislator Manorama Devi and also sealed her house in Gaya for violating the liquor ban imposed by the state government.

She is the mother of notorious Rocky Yadav who is accused of shooting dead a teenager Aditya Sachdeva, a Class 12 student, with his Italian pistol merely after he overtook his car.

Both her son Rocky Yadav and husband Bindi Yadav have already been arrested and sent to jail in connection with the killing incident which has trigged huge protests across Bihar and earned a very bad name for the ruling Nitish Kumar government.

The arrest warrant was issued against the legislator after some eight liquor bottles were recovered from her home during a raid conducted by police on Monday where the police had gone looking for her absconding son.

Keeping liquor bottles are punishable offence in Bihar now declared a ‘dry’ state, inviting jail term up to 10 years.

Today a team of police team reached her house to arrest her but as she was not there, the police sealed her house and other properties. Reports said the legislator has gone underground to escape arrest.

Only yesterday, she had been suspended from the party for violating the liquor ban. She has also been served show-cause notice and asked to reply soon failing which severe punitive action will be taken against her.
