Bihar police Assn chief arrested for creating nuisance under influence of liquor


PATNA: Police in Bihar arrested the president of the Bihar Policemen’s Association (BPA) after he was found creating ruckus under the influence of liquor.

Reports said BPA president Nirmal Singh was arrested from police lines premises late Wednesday night after being caught creating nuisance and hurling abuses at senior police officials under the influence of alcohol.

Another policeman Shamsher Alam too was arrested for similar charge.

“Both were arrested for creating nuisance in the police lines last night,” Patna’s senior superintendent of police manu Maharaj told the media today.

The arrested officials were later produced in the court which remained them to 14-day judicial custody. Both have been kept in Beur central jail. Bihar has imposed total liquor ban.
