PATNA: A district administration in Bihar has asked all the private schools to compulsorily organize Independence Day functions on August 15 and unfurl national tri-colours.
Patna district magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agarwal issued the order on Saturday amid reports that many private schools have been skipping the national festival or declaring holiday on August 15.

The district magistrate also asked the school authorities to inform the guardians about the I-Day functions in schools aimed at ensuring larger participation of students in the functions.
“When all government schools celebrate the I-Day and Republic Day with much fanfare, there is no reason to avoid such functions in private schools,” the district magistrate said.
The official said no private schools would be close on I-day this year.
India will be celebrating 70th Independence Day this year to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who had contributed a lot and fought for the Independence of India.
India got independence from the British empire on August 15, 1947.
