Bihar lawmaker’s son accused of shooting dead teenager for car overtake arrested, arms recovered

PATNA: Rocky Yadav, son of a ruling party legislator Manorma Devi accused of shooting dead a teenager Aditya Sachdeva for overtaking his car, was arrested by police early today.

The accused who was absconding after the incident was caught early today from inside a construction company office in Bodh Gaya, a little away from Gaya town where the killing took place late on Saturday night, police said.

Police are also learnt to have recovered a gun from his possession.

“We had been regularly carrying out raids to locate and finally succeeded in nabbing him. I can’t give more details right now,” the local Gaya’s senior superintendent of police Garima Mallick told the media today.

As per reports, the accused was hiding inside a construction company office when a team of police raided it in the wee hours today.

The arrest follows hours after accused legislator mother was extensively quizzed by the police yesterday. Police have already arrested her notorious husband Bindi Yadav and sent him to jail in the case.

Yadav was accused of brutally killing a 19-year-old boy after he tried to overtake his Range Rover car.

Police said the victim Aditya Sachdeva, son of a prominent businessman, was returning home on his Swift car with friends on Saturday night when he tried to overtake the car of a politician’s son identified as Rocky.

Reports said in a fit of rage, the accused stopped the victim’s car by overtaking him, assaulted him and then shoot him dead. The victim had recently appeared for Class 12 exam.
