Bihar Journalist murder case being handed over to CBI: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar


PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today announced to hand over the Siwan journalist Rajdeo Ranjan murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CB).

The victim’s family had sought a CBI probe into the murder saying they had no faith in police of the present government.

“I discussed the issue (regarding handing over the case to the CBI) with the Bihar DGP last night and will take a decision very soon,” chief minister told the media in Patna today.

He said none would be spared in the case as the police have been given free hand to investigate the case.

He said he was shocked at the killing of journalist. “A journalist’s job is to write and an attack on him is just like an attack on me,” said Kumar.

Ranjan, the local district bureau chief of Hindi daily ‘Hindustan’, was killed by unidentified gunmen on Friday evening while returning home after work.
