Bihar engineer caught holding three govt jobs at a time sent to jail
PATNA: A Bihar engineer who had been holding three government jobs at a time and also drawing salary has been sent to jail for his crime.
Suresh Ram against whom a case had been registered for working for three government departments simultaneously surrendered in the Kishanganj court on Wednesday after which he was remanded to judicial custody.
Ram, an assistant engineer, had hit the headlines last month after he was found working for three departments—Building Construction Department in Kishanganj, Water Resources Department in Banka and Bhimnagar East Embankment at Supaul.
Authorities said he had managed to mark his attendance in every departments all at a time and also was drawing heavy salary from the three departments.
The matter came to light last month when the state government introduced the Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) for better financial management. The system caught the man working for three departments.
Subsequently, a case was registered with a police station in Kishanganj. However, he went into hiding after registration of the case.
