Bihar doctor unchains dog to chase away patient

PATNA: Police in Bihar have registered a case against a doctor after he let free his pet dog to drive away a visitor who insisted on treating his family member.

Police said a youth Jawed Iqbal had rushed to the clinic of a local physician Dr Lalit Kumar Singh on Friday evening to treat one of his relatives after she suddenly fell ill. The doctor has his clinic located at Mahisaudi locality in Jamui district.

By the time he reached his clinic, his time to see the patients was over and he was quitting his chamber. However, the youth insisted on treating his family member, terming it as an “emergency case” which irritated the doctor.

Reports said the doctor reacted by letting free his dog which was tied to chains. Once the dog was freed, it began chasing the visitors and wounded them, by biting their bodies. The victim has registered a case with the local police

“We have registered the case and investigating into the matter. Action will be taken after the probe,” a local police official associated with the investigation Sanjeev Kumar said.
