PATNA: The very name “Shahabuddin” spells terror in Bihar right now.
In a latest incident, a man was beaten to death for allegedly stealing handfuls of onion from the field of Mohammad Shahabuddin.

The horrible incident took place at village Shahpur under Dawat police station in Rohtas district on Wednesday night.
Police said some five villagers were stealing onions from the field of Shahabudidn on the fateful night when he somehow got a hint of this.
Subsequently, the landlord with helps from co-villagers surrounded the “thieves” from all sides in bid to nab them.
The villagers nabbed one person after giving them a hot chase while the rest four managed to escape.
A village court held thereafter order beating of the nabbed “thief”. This followed severe beating up of the “thief” allegedly by Shahabuddin and his men as he finally succumbed to injuries.
The victim has been identified as Aatma Singh, 55.
Based on the statement of victim’s wife Kamla Devi, the police have registered a case against some unidentified persons in this connection.
The other Mohammad Shahabuddin, a resident of Pratapur village in Siwan district, needs no mention here.
