Bihar court orders police officer to register case against self

PATNA: A local court in Bihar has ordered a police official to file a case against self for repeatedly violating the court orders.

A district court at Ara in Bhojpur district had asked the officer-in-charge of Town police station to register cases against chief minister Nitish Kumar and BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani for allegedly making adverse comments against RJD regime during the last 2010 assembly elections.

Both the leaders had reportedly talked about the “flourishing” kidnapping industry in Bihar during the RJD regime remained in power from 1990 to 2005.

The order to register cases was issued on the complaint of a local advocate Satyavrat.

Reports said the police officer refused to abide by the court order despite repeated reminders.

Eventually on Wednesday, the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) VD Rai ordered the police officer to register a case against self and inform the court about this.
