Bihar court awards life imprisonment to rapist lawyer, also slaps fine
PATNA: A local court in Bihar has awarded life sentence to a practicing lawyer for raping a woman four years ago.
The court of additional district and sessions judge in Muzaffarpur yesterday also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on the lawyer finding him guilty of raping his woman renter at gun-point.

The accused lawyer Nirbhay Kumar, a resident of professor colony in Muzaffarpur district, had been arrested in June 2012 after a woman charged him with robbing off her modesty after making her husband captive.
According to the victim, she was given a rented accommodation by the lawyer in his home.
“On the fateful night, the lawyer barged into my room and raped me after making my husband captive at gun-point,” the victim said in her complaint petition.
