PATNA: CPI-ML general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya today launched a massive assault on the ruling Nitish Kumar government in Bihar alleging the chief minister was “drunk” with power.
“If anyone who is completely drunk in Bihar today is chief minister Nitish Kumar. He is drunk with power,” alleged Bhattacharya, addressing party’s “Aadhikar rally” organized in the veterinary college ground in Patna on Sunday.
Terming the government’s “human chain” programme against alcoholism as the biggest hypocrisy of the ruling regime, Bhattacharya said the idea was simply at branding image of the chief minister.
“The poor have been pushed behind the bars on the charge of drinking while the liquor mafias enjoying full patronage from the government have formed a big network across the state and are freely making home delivery of liquor,” he alleged.
Charging the government with trying to silence the voice of the common men launching a war against corruption and tyranny, Bhattacharya said the chief minister was focusing on anti-alcohol campaign just to cover up the issues of common concerns.
He also launched massive assault on the Narendra Nodi government at the centre for enforcing currency ban which he alleged has left millions of people unemployed.
“The note ban caused massive hardships to the poor general masses yet Nitish Kumar has supported this move of the Modi government. It’s like rubbing salts to the wounds of the common men,” he alleged.
