Bihar candidates’ emotional appeals to voters to help them win last time


PATNA: Candidates in Bihar are playing emotional card to somehow win elections as the contest goes tough for them. More interestingly, this trick is being applied by leaders across various parties.

RJD leader Sharad Yadav is the latest in the list to use this trick. Yadav who is contesting from Madhepura seat finds the going tough in absence of party chief Lalu Prasad who is in jail in fodder scam.

“This will be my last election and hence I appeal to you to support my fight to save the country,” Yadav was quoted as telling the masses at his election rallies. He went  on to add that he might be killed if he lost the elections.

Sitting BJP candidate from East Champaran Radha Mohan Singh too has made similar appeal to the voters this time.

“This election is significant for me and the nation in more than one ways. This would be my last election,” Singh told the media soon after filing papers last week.

Singh who is facing stiff challenge from a young leader and RLSP candidate Akash Singh said he had fought eight elections in the past and all the time the people voted him wholeheartedly.

Senior RJD leader Jagadanad Singh who is contesting from Buxur seat too has been heard making similar kind of emotional appeal to the voters in elections. Singh is pitted against Union health minister and BJP candidate Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
