Bihar-born envoys promise all support to their home state in exploring trade, investment opportunities
PATNA: Six Bihar-born Indian ambassadors to different countries have promised all possible helps to their homeland in exploring trade and investment opportunities.
The team is on three-day visit to the state following instructions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote their home state in the countries of their posting.
Yesterday, they had an interactive session with the entrepreneurs of Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) to get a first hand view of ground realities. They also offered an invite to the local entrepreneurs to visit the respective countries of their posting and explore the business opportunities.
Alok Kumar Sinha, Indian ambassador to Bahrain, suggested the entrepreneurs in the food processing sector to export quality products saying the Indian embassy was always ready to help them.
Indian ambassador to Ukraine, Manoj Kumar Bharti, advised the entrepreneurs to try hands in technology and agriculture sectors.
Prabhat Kumar, Indian ambassador to Columbia, Sanjeev Ranjan, Indian ambassador to Argentina, Rajiv Kumar, Indian ambassador to Senegal and High Commissioner to Namibia Kumar Tuheen also offered helps from their sides.
Later in the day, the envoys called on Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind who suggested them to adopt their respective native villages or any village of their choice and develop them.
The envoys also met Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
