Bereaved Bihar villager plants saplings as last tribute to his dead mother

PATNA: A man in Bihar planted saplings as a tribute to his mother who died after prolonged illness yesterday.

The bereaved villager Ramjit Rajvasnhi planted variety of trees at Guli Bigha under Daudnagar block in Auranagabad district.

“Instead of shedding tears over his mother’s death, the man chose to plant trees as a last tribute to the dead soul,” a local villager was quoted as saying in a local newspaper today.

The villager also vowed to save the planted trees.

This is first incident of planting trees as a tribute to departed souls.

Bihar had earlier showed the way by planting fruit-bearing sapling to celebrate the birth of girl children.
