Begusarai theatre in Bihar used to make copy of ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’: Report


PATNA: Authorities probing the piracy copy of the “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” have found a theatre in Begusarai district of Bihar was used to make the high-definition copy of the movie, as per media reports.

Investigators say Veena Cinema Hall located at Tivhara in Begusarai, a central Bihar town some 130 km east of Patna, was used for making a copy of this movie which has now broken all records at the box office.

The entire story come to light after the Hyderabad police recently arrested six persons who were part of the inter-state movie-piracy gang based in Delhi.

The arrested persons include Divakar Kumar, owner of the cinema hall in question.

The gang was busted after one of the members tried to extort money from the “Baahubali” production banner Arka Mediaworks Entertainment Ltd saying he had the pirated copy and would upload on the internet if not paid money.

According to a report in The Times of India, the film that was released across 9,000 screens worldwide, has amassed a gross collection of Rs 633 crore (Rs 6.3 billion) from the Hindi market so far, thus making it the first Hindi film to cross the 600-crore mark.
